Review title of prospectorMS WINDOWS 10 SUCKS *** !
This Office, it is not clear if is office 365. They put in a key logger that is hacked easily and intentionally installed against my will with the windows 10. I got rid of it before or shut it off and they turn it back on and I get hacked again. They say I should go Premium and encrypt and pay them for the security. It is a set up. They send letters saying that they are a hacker and hacked me and want me send them money. I went a different route and key logging starts again and is copied and sent to a online message board where anyone may see things like your CC and passwords and anything else you have typed. Microsoft has purposely done these sneaky schemes/scams and also houses all personal datas about you, your contacts, locations and even if you have a dog and it's name as well as eye and face recognition specifics. Even this comment is scrutinized, super computer scanned and categorized by Ashkenazis for the NWO at Iron Mountain. This is a breach of my privacy. Don't submit.
I recently installed Microsoft Office on a Windows machine and everything worked fine for a few days, but all of a sudden when I open Word, I get the following error message:
It then gives me the option to check online for a solution or to close the program.
After this, I could not even open Word anymore! It would simply close down the program. How annoying! Anyway, after doing some research, I finally got the problem fixed.
Depending on your situation, the solution may be different. I will try to post all of them here and hopefully one will work for you.
Method 1 – Repair Office 2016/2013/2010/2007
To perform a repair of Office, go to Start, then Control Panel and click on Programs and Features. Click on the Microsoft Office and click Change.
Click Repair and then click Continue. For newer versions of Office, you might see Online Repair and Quick Repair. Let the repair finish, which could take a while, and then restart your computer.
If you continue to get the “Word has stopped working” message, then keep reading for more possible solutions!
Method 2 – Disable All Add-ins
Sometimes an add-in that gets installed automatically by another program (such as Adobe, etc.), might cause Word to crash. In this case, you can start Word in Safe Mode, which does not load any add-ins.
Simply click on Start and then Run or if you’re using Windows 7, just type the following command into the search box:
In Windows 10, press Windows Key + R. Now click on the Office button and click on Word Options. On newer versions of Office, click on File and then Options.
Click on Add-Ins and then disable all add-ins and try to load Word again normally.
Method 3 – Install Latest Updates
If that didn’t work for you either, then you should try to download and install the latest updates for your version of Office. Sometimes it’s a glitch that is fixed when you install the latest patches and fixes.
In Windows 7, you can go to Automatic Updates from the Control Panel and find the latest updates. You can also visit the Office download center and download service packs for Office, etc.:
Method 4 – Delete the Word Data Registry Key
There is a key in the registry that stores frequently used options in Word. If you delete the key, Word rebuilds it the next time you start Word by using the default settings.
You can delete the Word data key by going to the following location in the registry depending on your version of Word:
- Word 2002: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft Office10.0WordData
- Word 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft Office11.0WordData
- Word 2007: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft Office12.0WordData
- Word 2010: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice14.0WordData
- Word 2013: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice15.0Word
- Word 2016: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice16.0Word
Simply right click on the Data key and choose Delete. Now restart Word and see if the problem has gone away or not.
Method 5 – Remove Older Printer Drivers
Oddly enough, this ended up being the cause of my problem. I had an older print driver installed on my Windows machine and once I removed that driver, Word started working without any problems!
If you are running Windows 10, you might need to download the latest version that is compatible with that operating system.
You can delete individual printer drivers by going into the registry. Note that simply going to Printers and Faxes and deleting a printer there does not delete the printer driver.
Follow Step 3 in my previous post to remove the printer drivers:
Method 6 – Uninstall Recent Software
At this point, you have also think about any software or plugins that you may have installed on your computer. Annoyingly, this problem with Word can be caused by a program that is completely unrelated to Word!
Did you recently install some new hardware? A printer, scanner, label machine, web cam, tablet, etc.? Have you installed any software? If so, uninstall it and see if the problem goes away.
Method 7 – Completely Uninstall and Reinstall Office
If nothing has worked yet, there are not many options left! You can try to perform a full uninstall and then reinstall to see if the problem is fixed. Go to this link first and download the Fix It solution for your version of Office:
Once you run that, go ahead and restart the computer and reinstall your version of Office. If you have found a different solution to this problem, post a comment here and let us know!
I've been working on this for many hours. There is NO 'The printer I want is not listed' only Not finding what looking for which takes me to a windows page about bluetooth! Not helpful.
I deleted old Windows print to pdf after:
Print to pdf appears to work it says its doing it but never puts anything in the file folder I save it to.
I found some solved this with resetting permissions on the Temp files especially if moved. I went through all the command prompts and got the end result as specified. No Joy.
In sharing you have to include Current Creator or something like that not just 'Everyone'. No Joy.
The try to find a problem options doesn't find a problem. . except won't print to pdf
I believe in a prior version of Windows 10 there was a Printer is not listed option as this post describes. But in my latest update it disappeared.
NEW I found the printer is not listed option. duh.. If you right click in the printer area the option does not show. However, if you use the upper tab 'Add a printer' does show and I followed every step in this article. It put the Print to PDF printer back in. No joy if print to it now doesn't even give me the save as file explorer which it did before.
I changed all the security settings to allow all the options. No joy.
I changed all the security settings to allow all the options. No joy.
I then set up the printer to 'save to file' But doing that only has a Postscript? output option. It opened explorer direction, let it save..showed it was saving.. but just as before, no file is actually saved.
So have basically run out of options nothing seems to work
I am going to just print on a regular printer that works fine and then scan it and convert to pdf. Would be easier if Print to PDF worked.
I remember when I bought my last copy of Office in 2007. It was an upgrade, naturally, because it's always been an upgrade. I remember I first bought Office sometime before Bill Clinton was president. After that, every three to five years, when Microsoft revved the product, I'd pull out my wallet and pay Redmond for the new shiny bits.

At least until about eight years ago. That was when Microsoft turned Office into a subscription service. I've been making regular payments on Office 365 ever since. Apparently, I'm not the only one. In July 2017, Microsoft announced that revenues for Office 365 beat out that of traditional Office licenses. Then, in October, the company predicted it will have two thirds of all Office users in the cloud by this coming summer.

But what if you don't want to be part of the cha-ching flow that keeps Clippy in caffeine? Sure, you could look to one of the excellent Office alternative distributions, like LibreOffice. But what if you want to use real Office, but for free?
As it turns out, there are a few legitimate ways to use Office 365 without paying for it. Not all solutions apply to everyone, but for some of you, the following words may get you to the point where you can excel.
1. Free, online Office apps
If you're willing to use slightly feature-limited online versions of the venerable Office applications, you can. Just open your browser and point it to this link.
As you might imagine, this free offering is Microsoft's direct response to the various free Google Docs offerings. If you're okay with the reduced feature set in Office Online (which is still impressively complete compared to Google's versions), you can be sure your files are absolutely Office-compatible using just your browser.
2. Free Office mobile apps
If you use a phone or a tablet, you can get the mobile version of Office for free. We've looked at these versions before, and they're excellent implementations of the full Office applications -- again with some minor feature limitations.
One note: size does matter when it comes to Office mobile apps. If your screen is larger than 10.1 inches, you will have to pay for Office 365. That means that if you're running one of the cheaper iPads, all's good. But if you're using the new 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch iPad Pro, you'll need to pay your tithe to the House That Bill Built.
3. Educational versions
If you have one of the right .edu email addresses, whether you are a student, a teacher, or possibly even an alum, you can get the full Office 365 product for free. That includes the full, download-and-install applications, an Exchange account, Teams, and more.
The gotcha is that your school has to have bought an educational license to Office. If you want to see if your educational email address will help you win the free Office lottery, go to this page and enter your .edu address. Good luck!
4. Trial version
If you don't need to make Office into a career, and all you need to do is crank out one PowerPoint or Excel spreadsheet this month, a trial version of Office might do you.
There are some downsides to this approach. You'll have to give M$ your credit card -- and remember to cancel the trial before the month runs out. Otherwise, your free trial will turn into a year's payment for Office 365 Home edition.
5. Try again
People have reported, undoubtedly in violation of the terms of service, using a different email address and credit card to get another month trial of Office 365. That's a lot of work to avoid paying for a pretty exceptional software suite. I wouldn't advise it, but apparently it's been done.
6. Try, try again: the ProPlus trial
Because the idea of doing something only one way is a cultural anathema to the Redmond folk, there is actually a second legitimate way to get a trial version of Office. In this case, we're pointing you to the Microsoft Office ProPlus trial. This is another 30-day trial, aimed at potential enterprise customers.

7. Free with PC purchase
Okay, I know getting Office free with a PC purchase doesn't seem like the best way to save money, but hear me out. A lot of PCs come bundled with a year of Office 365, which is worth, generally, about $99.
The thing is, some of the PCs that come with a free year of Office 365 are ridiculously cheap. Go to Amazon's laptop section and then type in 'with free office' into the search bar. You'll see some inexpensive laptops (like the little $199 Asus gem shown above).
Yes, you're spending money, but if you think about it, you're getting both a laptop and a year of Office for less than two hundred bucks. You could keep the cheap laptop or even possibly resell it and get most of your money back.

Look, I know it's far from ideal, and I pay my Microsoft tax every year, but if you want to save money and get a deal, spending an extra hundred bucks on top of the price of Office -- and getting a full laptop out of the deal -- is a pretty good compromise.
What else?

You've got a new PC running Windows 10 Home. You want to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. Here's how to get that upgrade for free. All you need is a Pro/Ultimate product key from an older version of Windows.
Microsoft's much-hyped free upgrade offer for Windows 10 ended in 2016, right? Not exactly. The GWX tool may be gone, but all the other upgrade tools still work. The end result is an apparently valid digital license, and there's no evidence that the free upgrades will end any time soon.
